The bookcase takes shape from a polished aluminium extrusion that defines its structural framework, resulting in a configuration of suspended shelves with a clean and refined graphic line. Designed for wall installation or floor placement, Doheny develops around a central upright, supported by machined solid-brass fixings with a bronze finish. While fulfilling a supporting function, these parts remain deliberately visible, contributing to the identity of the piece. In this interplay between construction logic and detailing, the piece achieves a balanced tension between visual lightness and stability.
Configurable in three or four levels, the bookcase features rectangular shelves with softened front corners and trapezoidal-shaped side panels that flow continuously with the horizontal elements. Shelves and crossbars are available in wood or gloss lacquer finishes, offering different material interpretations, while the side panels, crafted in polished aluminium, can also be upholstered in leather and finished with a tailored stitch that subtly highlights their profile. The possibility of combining multiple units, even in different configurations, allows for the development of larger compositions that transform the wall into a layered architectural feature, naturally animating the living space.
As an alternative to shelves, Doheny can accommodate hooks for hanging pictures and objects, or octagonal glass tops, expanding its functionality without compromising the coherence of the piece. The result is an essential yet sophisticated piece, where precise craftsmanship and material sensitivity achieve a harmonious balance between lightness and solidity.
